Fishery | Study, Job, Employment, Economy and Scope
Fishery can mean either the enterprise of raising or harvesting fish and other aquatic life. Commercial fisheries include wild fisheries and fish farms, both in freshwater water bodies and the oceans.
This article will only highlight acquisition of knowledge (study) and economic(employment and industrial) aspect of fishery in the personal life of interested individuals.
How well did you perform during your school days?
Did you study your desired course?
What was your aim, was it to get the world around you impressed that you received good education?
Haven't you ever heard of "no available job vacancy for graduates in this country"?
Did you ever plan for alternative career in case of unemployment?
Did you ever ask your parents whether they will sponsor you after school if you don't get employed or not?
Okay now, no job, can you keep yourself busy with available jobs even if their income are little or small?
Did you know :
Many parents believe that when they send you to school, that's the best thing they can do for you.
Some youths awaiting admission into higher institutions don't have any Idea on how their proposed course will contribute to their personal economy.
Employers want something special about applicants, can you outperform people that study the same course as you. For example, you study fishery, you do I.T, you can blog and so on.
Hints:
Do more research on personal development including interviewing people with more experience.
Ask yourself :
Has anyone done this before and become successful with it?
What impact will it have on me and the people around me?
Poor economic insight may affect a person who chose to study fishery without personal development literacy.
Someone studied zoology in a country without standard Wildlife management
So how will his career look like in such economy?
In this post I will discuss the two factors Job and study, then I will relate them to a person's life.
Google Search : "Available Fishery jobs in Nigeria" or "fisheries and aquaculture jobs in nigeria" The worst of these queries is "jobs for fisheries graduates". These search terms may not lead to employment in Nigeria because of the system.
Facts :
Study fishery if you'll have enough capital to fund yourself to start the business on your own.
If you study fishery, know that there are suitable locations (Water supply) where the business will survive in your country.
Don't study fishery due to pressure, do so because of your passion and potential economic impact on your future.
I will update this article, and will add more contents to it from my research. My book project on "A guide to Fishery and the Future" will be available soon on Amazon.
There are some institutions that offer fishery as a course but I'll tell you that they don't give you as a career. Yet, from my research I know some institutions that you'll inherit fishery as a career from in Nigeria, America, Australia, Japan, India, Italy, South Africa, China, etc.
Can you recommend any institution that offer Fishery as a professional course?
